Focusing on people whose rights are most at risk
The Independent Human Rights Fund for Scotland is open to applications from organisations with a track record of human rights work. It will focus on people, including children and young people, whose rights are most at risk. Funding will support people and communities to use human rights as a tool for change.
The Independent Human Rights Fund is independent of government and is open to non-statutory organisations working in Scotland. It is supported by a group of funders that currently includes: AB Charitable Trust, Binks Trust, Cattanach, Corra Foundation, The Baring Foundation, The Robertson Trust and William Grant Foundation. It is hosted by Corra Foundation.
We are pleased to be contributing to this new fund as we continue to learn how rights-based approaches can advance our vision of a Scotland where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. You can read more about our interest in human rights, diversity, equity and inclusion here.
Now open for applications
The Fund has already made three grants, reflecting a range of work supporting communities to power social change and secure justice. It is now open to applications until 12 noon on Wednesday 4 September 2024. Around £900,000 is available for this open call, which is likely to result in between six and 12 grants. Corra anticipates a high level of demand.
